The work of Erick Beltrán (Mexico City, Mexico, 1974) centres on the concept of editing and the constructions of discourse. He makes use of a variety of formats, such as diagrams, large-scale prints, maps and objects. The artist is interested in how information circulates and is organised, conditioning our understanding of the world, as well as in language and our relationship to knowledge. His drawings, plans and graphic systems are attempts to explain this world. His work has been presented in exhibitions at IVAM (2023); Artium (2022); Documenta 15, Kassel (2022); KunstWerke, Berlin (2021); Liverpool Biennial (2021); Museo Experimental el Eco, Mexico City (2021); MUAC, Mexico City (2021); Centro Botín, Santander (2019), Cuenca Biennial (2018); Yinchuan Biennial (2018); Museo de Arte Contemporáneo La Tertulia, Cali (2017); New Museum, NYC (2014); Museo Tamayo, Mexico City (2014); São Paulo Biennial (2014 and 2008), and MACBA, Barcelona (2012), among others.
