The flying art of Ponsatí
The inflatables of Josep Ponsatí at a time of confinement
Granollers, May 1971: Eleven white and yellow plastic modules rise into the sky to form a 30-metre-long tower. Cala Sant Miquel, Ibiza, October 1971: 12 slightly curved white modules rise up into a flying piece 41 metres long. Cap de Creus, June 1972 and Benidorm, August 1971: 40 red triangular pieces go up in a work 80 meters high. Montjuïc Park in Barcelona, 1977: 17 white triangular modules fly over the illuminated fountain. As Alexandre Cirici noted in Serra d'Or magazine (15/8/1971): ‘It had been a remarkable experiment in poetic art.’
