His performance Funda evokes the worst dystopias

As early as 1972, Robert Llimós was building a visual fiction of isolation from the world. In his performance Funda (Cover), the artist wore a canvas jumpsuit that completely covered and shielded him. Cut off from the outside world, he then walked around the city. It was part of a series of works made with this robust and flexible material used by painters as their support. While this performance set out to express the limitations inherent to painting, today it refers very directly to our new relationship with work and with others, an experience of social distancing that evokes the worst dystopias.
