Happy Sant Jordi, this year too!

In her well-known poem, Gertrude Stein was not the only one to honour the universality of the rose. The artist Roberto Obregón also did so when turning the profile of the leaves of a rose into the central motif of his artwork. In his Niagara series, a title that references the film starring Marilyn Monroe, whom he admired, Obregón traces a grid with rose petals in which he places people, words, symbols and references from his personal life and from the public domain. ‘I try to portray some ghosts from my strictly personal life and others from mass culture’, the artist explained. What would your ‘Niagaras’ be like for this Sant Jordi?
