Barcelona per Brossa [itinerari realitzat el 5 d'octubre de 1979 en el context de "La Festa de la Lletra"], 1979 (2007)
The Liceu opera house seen from the stage, a shop of masks and puppets called El Ingenio, a ride on a golondrina (a sightseeing boat) around the Barcelona harbour with Carles Santos playing the piano, the municipal kennels, the popular Boqueria market, a fire-eating show and a striptease by the famous Christa Leem at the Estació de França railway station, were the different stops in the itinerary designed by Joan Brossa for an anti-touristic tour of Barcelona on 5 October 1979. Coinciding with La Festa de la Lletra festival, it was vividly documented by Colita.
Described as a ‘secular pilgrimage’ by the journalist Lluís Permanyer for an article in La Vanguardia – ‘a maliciously entertaining experience that should be repeated’ –, the tour was attended by about a hundred people and didn’t end until about three in the morning. Taking part was a mixed bag of intellectuals, architects, writers, artists, actresses, photographers, doctors, executives and all sorts of other people wanting to discover Joan Brossa’s Barcelona.
