We bid farewell to the year with two exhibitions that form part of the MACBA Collection: the recent presentation of the research project Josep Grau-Garriga: Dialogue with Light and the new exhibition Poetic Intention. While the first showcases the environments and drawings created by this innovator of the medium of textiles, the second presents some of the recent acquisitions from the Collection, including artists such as Ignasi Aballí, Mar Arza, Bernat Daviu, Lúa Coderch, Fito Conesa, Laia Estruch, Angela Ferreira, Sandra Gamarra, Regina Giménez, Núria Güell, Zoe Leonard and Amalia Pica. However, during this year, we also said goodbye to some very significant exhibitions, such as In Real Time. Rafael Tous Collection of Conceptual Art, which celebrated the incorporation into the Collection of an outstanding corpus of Catalan Conceptual art, plus the Museum's temporary exhibitions. The works in the Collection accompanied Teresa Lanceta’s vindication of weaving as a universal act, the performative austerity of María Teresa Hincapié and the collective energy of Cinthia Marcelle and Tiago Mata Machado. To this we must add the works on loan that have travelled to national and international institutions, such as the Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa; Kunsthalle, Vienna; and the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria, Barcelona, among many others.
