View of the work 'Incomplete Infinitude' by Daniel Steegmann Mangrané

In 2023, we will be presenting new acquisitions and site-specific interventions as an integral part of the revised exhibition of the Collection, Poetic Intention, an open prelude to the extension of the Museum, which, by the end of 2024, will provide a permanent home for the MACBA Collection. We will discover works and projects by, among others, Mireia Sallarès, Eva Fàbregas, Pedro Torres and Carlos Bunga. The new acquisitions will help determine the Museum's exhibition programming. Some of these new works will form part of the exhibitions of Bouchra Khalili and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané. Collective Creation, the first of a series of exhibitions around collective projects and shared agencies, will present group ventures such as Vídeo-Nou, founded in Barcelona in 1977, which promoted video as an element of social, cultural and educational communication. Also in 2023, works from the Collection will travel to prominent spaces, including the Philharmonie, Paris; the Guggenheim Museum, New York; and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid.
