Optimism/Pessimism: Constructing a Life, 1981
In this video, Martha Rosler examines the feminist movement’s attempts to renegotiate historically basic rights. Reading a text in the first person, the artist enumerates the different domestic, sexual and gender negotiations established by heterosexual couples in the face of internal and external pressures.
