Voy a hacer de mi una estrella, 1975

Graphic material, 10.7 x 15.1 cm
In the autumn of 1975 Pazos created, with the photographer Albert Cruells and the make-up artist M.J. Carandini, a series of twenty-one portraits in black and white, in which the artist simulated the ways in which the big Hollywood studios promoted their “stars.” As a result of his interest in this aesthetic, Pazos began to assemble a collection of works – photographs, objects, souvenirs, installations, performances – which he used to construct a fictional personality and a fictional narrative. This new project was marked by the ironic detachment that Pazos established between himself and his persona, and by a critique of the social value that our society places in image.
