The work of Jordi Pablo, which began in 1969, features objects related to everyday reality. For Pablo the concept of morphology is fundamental in referring to the study of forms, there between biology, functionality and art. In this new life granted to objects language plays a leading role as well, with titles that combine poetry, irony and play. In this body of earlier pieces Pablo explores the idea of variation or multiplicity through subtle alterations of form. This results in impossible objects (like the ruler that does not measure), others that have lost their function (uncombed combs, advertising material that does not communicate anything, disintegrated erasers) and others that are transpositions of musical works, such as Variació lineal per a una capsa de mistos, which takes as its starting point the final song on the Richie Havens album Stonehenge: the length of the detailed vision of the object corresponds precisely to the 8-minute-long song.
