Desenho habitado, 1977
The collection of works comprising the series Desenho habitado, which the artist began to produce in 1975, is a clear example of the first stage in the evolution of her production, and exemplifies her personal language, situated on the borders between different disciplines. In these works, the artist appears drawing, with a pen in her hand. The line she is drawing is sometimes made of thread or horsehair, which may leave that plane to travel through space. On other occasions, there are blue brushstrokes over her face, head or body, in a game between appearance and hidden things, image and reflection and fragmentation. Like the series of faces with open mouths, which have been sewn up with lines that form the word Ouve-me, "listen to me".
