Aleix Plademunt studied Photography at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and has a postgraduate degree from the University of the Americas Puebla (Mexico). He lives and works in Barcelona. As a photographer, he has produced series of photographs taken in such disparate parts of the world as Argentina, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Turkey and China. Through images of careful and formal composition as well as an objective and distant visual language, he reflects on the human footprint in rural and urban territories, both in a social, historical and environmental sense. In his visual construction of the landscape he reflects on concepts such as space, place, intervention, abuse, dominance and presence. He is also a co-founder of the artist book publishing platform Ca l’Isidret Edicions.

Since the early 2000s, he has exhibited individually at Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya in Barcelona (2006), London Art Fair (2008), Centro Difusor de Arte in Lisbon (2012), New Gallery in Madrid (2015), Bilbao Contemporary Photography Centre (2015), Alcobendas Art Centre in Madrid (2016), FG2 in Gothenburg (2018) and Olivier Waltman Gallery in Paris (2021), among other spaces. His work can be found in collections such as those of the Bank of Spain and MACBA in Barcelona.
