Lola Lasurt studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and has postgraduate degrees in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona and in Fine Arts from the Higher Institute for Fine Arts in Ghent. She lives and works in Barcelona. In her pictorial installations, ceramic objects, videos, editorial works and collaborative processes, Lasurt uses the recent past to illuminate some of the paradoxes that concern both past and present. Far from the mechanisms of historiography, she often presents her proposals as a reappropriation, in a critical and micropolitical key, of the past. An archaeology of the present that, among other elements, includes painting as a starting point or as the first tradition to be readdressed.

She has had solo exhibitions at Museu Abelló, Mollet del Vallès (2011), Sala Muncunill, Terrassa (2012), Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona (2014), World Trade Centre, Brussels (2016), La Capella, Barcelona (2020), Fundació Joan Brossa, Barcelona (2021) and Centro Federico García Lorca, Granada (2022). Her work is included in the collections of IVAM, Valencia; Museu Abelló, Mollet del Vallès; and MACBA, Barcelona, among others.
