Pilar Monsell is a filmmaker, film editor and researcher. She trained in the Master's Degree in Creative Documentary at the UPF where she currently teaches Feminist Film Theories and Practices on the Master's Degree in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies. She has received several awards for her work, most notably for her first feature film ''África 815'' (2014) and the short films ''Dos sueños después'' (2017) and ''Una revuelta sin imágenes'' (2020). She was the director of the documentary programme 'Salvados' on La Sexta TV and she directed the feature-length TV documentary 'ELLAS' for Atresmedia (2020). In 2017, she had her first solo exhibition at La Virreina, where she was also part of the research group Laboratorio Contra-visiones (2017-2019). She lives between Barcelona and Córdoba.
