Photographer Miquel Arnal (Barcelona, 1960) started out as a laboratory technician, assistant photographer and production manager. Since 1981, he has worked for different advertising agencies and fashion designers in Barcelona and Madrid, establishing himself as a key figure in commercial photography. His photographs and videos have featured in festivals such as Foco Norte, Santander; BAC, Barcelona; and Estampa, Madrid, among others. A friend of Ocaña in the countercultural Barcelona of the late Franco regime and the subsequent years of the Transition, he portrayed him on multiple occasions, as did other photographers such as Colita and Toni Catany.
