Marina Herlop learned the piano at an early age, gave it up as a teenager and resumed her musical studies at the age of 20. Between 22 and 25 years of age, at the Conservatori, she began to use the piano and her voice as unique tools to explore harmonies and melodies, giving rise to her first album, “Nanook” (Instrumental Records, 2016).
On her second album, “Babasha” (Aloud Music Ltd, 2018), she worked with a producer who added synthesisers and special effects, and introduced her to Ableton software and the electronic production that has marked her music since then.
“Nekkuja”, released by the Berrtlin label PAN in 2023, followed her acclaimed “Pripyat” (PAN, 2022), which took her on a tour lasting nearly three years round the world’s top festivals.
Marina Herlop’s music is defined by her constant search for emotional and aesthetic formulas to take her forward, an approach that adds coherence to her whole body of work.
