Lara Sheehi is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. Her work deals with race and white supremacy, decolonial struggles, and power configurations as they relate to constructions and dynamics of class and gender within the field of psychoanalysis. She approaches her profession through the practice of a trans-inclusive feminist model of liberation theory. Lara is the president elect of the Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology (SPPP), as well as president of the Teacher's Academy of the American Psychoanalytic Association. She is co-editor of Studies in Gender and Sexuality, member of the editorial board for the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association (JAPA), Psychoanalysis, Culture and Society (PCS), and the magazine Institutionalised Children Explorations and Beyond, also serving on the advisory boards of the USA-Palestine Mental Health Network and Psychoanalysis for Pride.
