Juan Navarro has enjoyed a long career as a performer, actor and stage director. During the 1990s, he resided in cities such as Berlin, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Seville and Madrid, where he worked with companies and directors such as Anita Saij, Dance Lab (Copenhagen), La Fura dels Baus, Einstürzende Neubauten (Berlin), Roger Bernat and General Elèctrica (Barcelona), Sara Molina (Seville) and Marta Galán (Barcelona). Since 2000, he has been a regular collaborator with Rodrigo García and La Carnicería Teatro.
Between 2014 and 2017, he was part of the Humain Trop Humain project in the National Theatre of Montpellier, directed by Rodrigo García. During those three years, he worked with artists such as Jan Lawers, Markus Öhrn, Luis Garay, Anna Borralho and Joao Galante, in addition to directing his own creations.
He currently lives in Barcelona. He has directed works such as "Tala", an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Thomas Bernhard, in addition to contemporary creations such as "Fiestas Populares" (Mercat de les Flors, Barcelona, 2005), "Agrio Beso" (Sala Apolo, Barcelona, 2007), "Baby" (Teatro Luis Peraza, Caracas, 2010), "Nancy Spungen" (Antic Teatre, Barcelona, 2011), "Pequeño preludio (Inmortal)" (Sala Berlanga, Fundación de autor, Madrid, 2013), "No-one is an island" (CNN Montpellier, 2018), "El Bosque" (TNT Terrassa, 2018) and "En lo alto para siempre" by David Foster Wallace, among others. He is currently conducting the research project SA together with Óscar Cornago.
He has taught stage experimentation laboratories in a Master's Degree Programme at the Université Paul-Valéry-Montpellier, Manufacture in Lausanne, the Universidad de Bogotá, Garage 29 in Brussels, the Luis Peraza Theatre in Caracas, and more.
