Hac Vinent has a degree in Arts Applied to Sculpture from the Escola Llotja, Barcelona, and in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Using visual and discursive content appropriated from different media, Vinent re-signifies it to create work that questions the way audiovisual capitalism, subjected to political and economic power, influences us. Her production is configured through a variety of languages such as video, sculpture, archives, actions, installations, prostheses and expanded distributions. As a deaf person, a significant part of her work addresses aspects of the identitarian construction of bodies with functional diversity. In her theory-fiction stories, Vinent speculates on other realities, bodies and imaginaries that run contrary to the prevailing norms and the so-called normality. By experimenting on what is or isn’t human and the political consequences of this conception, she demonstrates how in a disability society like the one we live in, not all corporalities are seen as a complete human body.
She had a solo exhibition at the Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona (2024), and has taken part in festivals such as Embarrat, Tàrrega (2021) and Panoramic, Granollers (2023), as well as exhibitions in art centres such as Centre Cívic Sant Andreu, Barcelona (2021) and Sala d’Art Jove, Barcelona (2018). Her work is included in the collections of the Fundación Montemadrid, Madrid, and Fundació Guasch Coranty, Fundació Güell and Col·lecció Sant Andreu Contemporani, all of them in Barcelona, as well as MACBA, Barcelona.
