Heidi Hassan (Cuba, 1978). In 2002 she graduated as a director of photography from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. In 2008 she continued her training with a diploma in Directing from the Haute école d’art et de design in Geneva. She alternates her work behind the cameras with numerous works as director of photography. Her films have been featured at prestigious international festivals, winning several awards, including the Silver Carabela for best Latin American short film at ZINEBI for “Tierra roja” and the best documentary prize at the Havana Film Festival New York for “Otra isla”.
