Cuban documentary maker, producer and photographer. As a director, her work explores the auditory universe and reflects on the perception of sound. Her feature-length documentary “Mafifa” (2021) premiered at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), and was selected for other leading festivals, universities and museums. She has also directed two shorts, “Umbra” (International Film Festival Viña del Mar, 2021) and “4 Hoyos” (IDFA, 2023), both with considerable exposure on the international scene. Daniela co-founded the independent production company Estudio ST, based in Havana and Madrid, with which she has produced more than ten short films featured at festivals including Sundance, Locarno, Rotterdam, IDFA, BAFICI, Clermont-Ferrand and Camden, among others. She is currently working on the “Diarios de silencio” project, selected for the Spanish Film Academy Residency Programme (2023) and winner of the prestigious Chicken & Egg Pictures grant for women documentary makers.
