Carlos M. Quintela (Cuba, 1984) is a film-maker. He studied Film at the Facultad de las Artes de los Medios Audiovisuales (FAMCA) and Screenwriting at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) in Cuba. His third film, “The Wolves of the East”, was produced by Naomi Kawase, commissioned by the Nara Festival where, five years before, Quintela won one of the top prizes at the event for his debut film, “La piscina”. He has written and directed several shorts, among them “Jorge y Elena, Casi” and “Buey”, the latter the winner of the prize for best short film at the Trinidad and Tobago Festival (2015). “La obra del siglo”, his second fictional feature film, took the Tiger Prize at the Rotterdam Festival in 2015. In 2019, Quintela embarked on the adventure of the webseries "El sucesor".
