Blanca del Río (Seville, 1988) is a cultural manager and curator specializing in contemporary artistic practices, based in Barcelona. She is currently an assistant curator at MACBA and, between 2018 and 2022, was exhibitions coordinator at the Museu Picasso de Barcelona.
She has curated exhibitions such as Habitar la oscuridad, adentrarse en el laberinto, by the artist Martínez Bellido at OTR (Madrid); Un espacio especial en perpetua metamorfosis; que se contrae y se dilata, que se abre y se cierra (Gaviota, Madrid, 2025); Esa extraña ternura (SAC, Barcelona, 2024); Bitter Peach No Stop (Fuxia, Malmö, 2024); Se propagarán sin retorno ni distancia (Injuve, Madrid, 2023–2024); ¿Cómo puedo enamorarme de este jardín? (FASE, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, 2022); About curls, confluences and resonances (ArtLacuna, London, 2021); and Sólo es verdad lo que sucede cada trescientas noches (Galería Alarcón Criado, Seville, 2021).
In 2018 she co-founded FASE (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat), a space she directed until 2024. Her practice also includes writing, supporting the work of artists and exhibition projects for institutions, galleries, and independent publications.
