Year Thirty Celebratory Event

We open Like a Dance of Starlings with a big collective celebration

finished
Benet Rossell "Cérémonials". Documentary Film about Festivities and Rituals by Miralda, Joan Rabascall, Dorothée Selz and Jaume Xifra, 1974.

On the occasion of our 30th anniversary, we open the new presentation of the MACBA Collection, Like a Dance of Starlings: MACBA Collection — Thirty Years and Infinite Ways of Being, with a big collective celebration.

Opening:  At 7:00 pm: Murmurs I: Cérémonials, with Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol, begins a programme of live arts, music and performance that invites us to regain the festive, counter-cultural energy of Cérémonials, collective rituals by Antoni Miralda, Dorothée Selz, Joan Rabascall, Jaume Xifra and Benet Rossell, in a reading marked by humour, theatricality and experimentation with the body.

At 8:30 pm: the celebration will continue until midnight, with all the exhibitions open to the public and the presentation of the exhibition Like a Dance of Starlings: MACBA Collection — Thirty Years and Infinite Ways of Being. Around 200 pieces by some 50 artists feature in a journey that aims to be a homage, but also a critical review of the threads woven by today’s museum, dealing with subjectivity as a space for liberation and opening up new ways of being and acting in the world.

If you can’t join us, remember that the celebration continues with three open days from 28 to 30 November

With the collaboration of

MACBA Thirty

We celebrate Year Thirty of an infinite MACBA that projects the future as a space for revision and possibility: of taking up what was left unfinished, updating what needs it and projecting anew everything that can still be transformed.
