Primary school (Years 3 to 6)

Weaving, knotting, braiding, dyeing, embroidering. What can we learn from textile techniques? What do Aurèlia Muñoz’s beings tell us about the way we share the world?

Flexible sculptures that hang, unfold and transform the space, encouraging us to look from different perspectives and to explore the museum with our entire body. We invite you to a visit of Aurèlia Muñoz. Beings through an educational experience led by artists. With them, the galleries will become a space for activating materials, gestures and relationships that expand the way we normally approach an exhibition. We invite you to observe, imagine and experience collectively, drawing on textile knowledge and the way we relate to living beings and the ecosystems we share.

The activity offers a space for exploring the richness of textile crafts and vocabularies – weaving, knotting, braiding, sewing, interlacing –, and for understanding these practices as forms of knowledge and ways of relating to the environment. Moreover, the exhibition also invites us to reflect on the interdependence of living beings, materials and ecosystems, while fostering an attentive, sensitive and critical perspective on the different ways of inhabiting the world. “Weaving and knotting with Aurèlia Muñoz” can be a starting point for cross-disciplinary work involving language, an understanding of the natural environment, and social, cultural and artistic education, based on an experience open to the questions and knowledge inherent to each group.

In the current context of ongoing demands, we recognise the everyday work of teachers and the struggles for more dignified conditions in public education. We see these demands as an inseparable part of the collective construction of education. The museum continues to offer a space for meeting, listening and experimentation, while respecting the rhythms and decisions of each educational community.
