If a prison were a radio station, what would it sound like? This final Open PEI of the 10th edition, «Sol y dar y dad», will consist of an exercise in transmission-reception stemming from a workshop led by sound artists Sunny Graves and opoku together with inmates of Brians 2 prison and PEI participants.

In an effort to imagine an experimental collective radio station, a sonic space of mutual listening is activated and transmitted from the Brians 2 music room to the inmates and beyond the walls that confine them. Acknowledging previous radio experiences in the prison and through methods of music production, sonic exploration, radical field recording and storytelling, a momentary transmission will be carried out, hosted by Sunny Graves and opoku.

During the event, an attempt will be made to tune into this imaginary radio station, allowing the voices and sounds of the inmates to be amplified, echo, resonate and expand beyond the prison walls. After the transmission, a space for sonic dialogue will be opened to share collective reflections and record messages back to the transmitters.
