The Mexterminator

Activity

The Mexterminator

Presentation of The Mexterminator, by Guillermo Gómez-Peña, a Mexican artist living in the USA. This interactive performance takes the form of a ‘guided visit' that presents live specimens, a series of ethnographic monsters or ‘multicultural Frankensteins' created by the interaction between the artist and a host of anonymous collaborators connected via the Internet, as a kind of compendium of Latin-American stereotypes in the USA.

The Mexterminator is an interactive performatic installation created by Guillermo Gómez-Peña and Roberto Sifuentes in collaboration with Sara Shelton Mann.

Produced by Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) in the context of Sónar 99.
