Street Botanography
Whether we like it or not, plants are all around us, luckily for us. They are in the form of seeds that wait patiently. Then, given very specific conditions of temperature, humidity, light and other elements, they dare to sprout and germinate. Sometimes that happens in the most unexpected places, where we have apparently eliminated all possibility of life other than human.
In this encounter, we will explore the unexpected botanical cartography of the city, seeking out other living beings that also inhabit it with great perseverance, and a simplicity and boldness that are a joy to behold. We will look for weeds tearing through the cement. These are plants that flourish by taking advantage of the most innocuous cracks, sneaking in and finding ways to flourish, appearing where you least expect them. Brazen asphalt plants that regale us daily with their ability to appear unexpectedly and survive with an almost extraterrestrial wit. Street botanography offers a great opportunity to uncover other ways of being alive on the surface of the Earth.
