Maria Canals and the piano’s resonance

For the second consecutive year, and in the context of the 60th Maria Canals International Competition, together with other cultural facilities in Barcelona, MACBA will host for a day a grand piano in the Museum Foyer. With this action we aim to bring the piano to everyone, providing access to a grand piano for many amateur pianists.
Integrated into the programme of activities of the Maria Canals International Competition is the MACBA programme Suite bufa by Josep Maria Mestres Quadreny and Joan Brossa, scheduled for Saturday, 8 March 7 pm.
The Maria Canals International Competition also includes a cycle of thirty free concerts by young pianists from the Taller de Música and small chamber ensembles such as the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, that of the Conservatori del Liceu and the Escola de Música Casp, among others, as well as free recitals given by the international contestants.
