We invite you to visit the temporary exhibition MiróMatisse. Beyond Images at the Fundació Joan Miró.

Beyond Images, first of all because this exhibition will question clichés. Because at first glance putting these two artists together might seem paradoxical. They belong to two different generations (Matisse was born in 1869 and Miró in 1893). They are generally associated with different artistic currents (fauvism in the case of Matisse and surrealism in that of Miró) and also different aesthetic approaches (“decorative” harmony in the case of Matisse and disturbing strangeness in that of Miró). However, the exhibition sets out to show the profound, lasting and constructing relations between the two artists, between how they saw art and between their bodies of work.
