Let’s talk about… Baharestan carpet
Tere Recarens will be curating the activity around her own work Baharestan carpet (Spring carpet), which is currently included in the exhibition MACBA Collection. Prelude. Poetic intention. Tere Recarens is an inter-active artist based in Berlin and Barcelona. Her work follows a path of exploration. She begins by immersing herself in cultures and languages that she does not know before returning to the community an ephemeral piece of art that invites the viewer to become part of it. Without the visitor, the work is not complete. Fun, anger and other expressions of emotion are essential to her approaches.
The exhibition MACBA Collection: Prelude: Poetic intention presents Baharestan carpet, painted on cardboard, which tells us stories and legends of Iran. On the other side of the carpet, Shahnaz Hadinya’s work The bride of Iran appears. Like a garden of paradise, this carpet is designed to be activated together with the Iranian community in Barcelona and its surroundings.
The programme Let’s talk about… generates discussions on the Museum’s exhibitions between the different agents and artists in the city and our regular public. It is a meeting point that regards exhibitions as powerful devices capable of activating the imagination and generators of discourses that often go beyond the preconceived readings of the institution or the curatorial team.
