On the occasion of the exhibition by the Colombian artist Carlos Motta, MACBA will present a programme of live arts, music and performance in summer 2025.

The programme will take the form of a queer gathering to rethink narratives about the hiv/aids pandemic past and present, with an emphasis on perspectives from the Global South. The International Queer/Cuir will bring together artists, thinkers and activists who construct other histories and narratives about the aids crises from an intersectional and decolonial perspective that distances itself from the Global North’s hegemonic historiography while creating local alternatives centred on the specificities of context.
