Initiation to Contemporary Art Course: ‘I’ as in Installation (2011 – 2012)

For primary and secondary school educators
The objective of this course is to provide educators with basic notions that allow them to examine contemporary artistic practices with an open and flexible mind, while also creating a space for dialogue and reflection to foster the exchange of ideas and experiences.
The dynamics of the course are based on an ongoing dialogue with the works exhibited in the museum. As such, its content is constantly changing, in conjunction with both the regularly renewed permanent Collection and the temporary exhibitions held throughout the year.
This second instalment continues the same logic as last year’s course, picking up and extending the debate around which the creative process is generated. Focusing on the exhibition Volume, the course will contribute new nuances to some key aspects of twenty-first century art, with a special emphasis on the concept of installation.
