On the occasion of the exhibition Aurèlia Muñoz. Beings, MACBA offers guided visits led by Albert Gironès, Ana Gnagui and Eva Paià.

As part of the Aurèlia Muñoz Year, this retrospective exhibition revisits a body of work that continues to be a reference for reviewing contemporary textile art. The exhibition showcases a practice that, drawing on textile knowledge, transcends the limits of fabric and craftmanship, combining ancestral techniques and contemporary resources to reflect on the relationship between living beings and the ecosystems we inhabit.

Through the artworks and the processes and materials that configure them, the participants are invited to explore an artistic practice that anticipated the incipient crises of the post-industrial world, paying attention to the fragility of the terrestrial, aquatic and aerial ecosystems and the need to rethink the way we inhabit them.

In the current context of ongoing demands, we recognise the everyday work of teachers and the struggles for more dignified conditions in public education. We see these demands as an inseparable part of the collective construction of education. The museum continues to offer a space for meeting, listening and experimentation, while respecting the rhythms and decisions of each educational community.
