Easter workshop: The Transformation of Matter

Dirt mixed with water becomes mud, or clay. Clay can be used to make everyday ceramic objects, but in the hands of an artist it becomes an experimental material that has very special tactile, visual and expressive qualities. In this workshop, we will examine some pieces by Antoni Cumella from the MACBA Collection, and also Pep Duran’s large secular altarpiece made specifically for Capella MACBA. Experimentation with ceramics will lead us to carry out our own personal exercise in the middle of the desacralised space of the Capella.
