Distensions #5: Blink

Distensions is a collective, open and annual meeting that takes place at MACBA in collaboration with Sala d’Art Jove. 

Distensions wants to generate a meeting space where the selected artists of Art Jove Creació share their doubts and work processes which they have been working through during the course of the year. We will participate in the elaboration of a set of reflections around artistic creation by young artists within the museum space. 

In this fifth session, the artists, through layers of sound, vibration and performative elements, reveal fractures and cohesions in their individual and our collective existence. By tracing the internal and external architectures of the everyday, the artists offer a set of ritualised fragments that call on the audience to reflect on their surroundings, political dynamics, and the forces generated by movement and migration. Words, light, and imagery make us blink and consider both the moment and what we choose to make of it.
