Conversation between Zahia Rahmani and Marta Vallejo
We propose a conversation that moves from the Arab Spring to the present day Raval, passing through the collective memories and the archive as an act of struggle and resistance.
A writer and art historian by training, Zahia Rahmani is responsible for the INHA’s Arts and Architecture in Globalisation research area, recently renamed History of Globalised Art. Inaugurated in 2004, it is the first research area devoted to critical oeuvres and artistic practices in the era of globalisation. From June to September, the MACBA Study Centre is hosting a small exhibition that shows her research Seismography of Struggles.
Marta Vallejo is a cultural worker interested in the spaces of intersection between cultural creation and political and community intervention. She has worked in Senegal, Egypt and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Since 2018 she has been part of the LaFundició cooperative.
Previously, at 11:45 a.m., Zahia Rahmani will give a brief introduction to the exhibition Seismography of Struggles, in the Study Centre (CED), Ground Floor.
