Behind a Fold, Softness: An Almanac of Gestures to Tenderise the Museum
Move through the museum like a mass. Let us come together, knowing we will not let one another go, that with each step, we soften, becoming more like a single entity. Form a tender horde and trot in unison to make the gaze vibrate, to provoke the collapse of representation. Fold an image and bring forth a poem. This collective action stems from a mutable and unfinished cartography of desires.
Guided by Alba Mayol, Eva Fàbregas and Ariadna Guiteras, we will dive into the imaginary world of Mari Chordà as if it were a whirlpool awash with possibility. We will immerse ourselves in her arcane poetry to discover how images transform when everything dampens. Linked by the voice of blanca arias, the four artists will lead a performative itinerary that, through gestures rooted in their practices, will invite us to trace the connections between the arts and feminisms, as well as to broaden and warm her (aesthetic) legacy. This activity is a free tribute, a ritual of gratitude and expansion, an attempt to inhabit the museum in a soft and interconnected way, a recital to embody the fold once and for all.
But where are we going?
We are going to ride across the world.
And we will see what happens to other women
and what they feel.
