A Vegetable Garden as an Ecosystem of Affection in the Mobile Garden
Presentation of art and well-being projects by health professionals from Raval Nord Primary Healthcare Centre and the MACBA’s Sustainability and Education Departments.
Join us to find out more about the Mobile Garden community vegetable garden project. This joint initiative between Raval Nord Primary Healthcare Centre, Les Metzineres, the Casal dels Infants Children’s Centre and MACBA views the garden as a space for care, coexistence and collective well-being. During the gathering, participants will share experiences and projects that connect art, health and community life.
As part of the Healing Arts programme, this activity will feature an open conversation between health professionals from Raval Nord Primary Healthcare Centre and the Mobile Garden (MACBA), who will share their experiences collaborating on the creation of a community garden over the past year and a half. The gathering will address the relational and transformative dimensions of the project, the connections it has fostered within the neighbourhood and its links to artistic practices and contemporary issues, such as the eco-social crisis, gentrification and loneliness. These are issues that often impact people’s mental and physical health.
The garden, understood as a space for care, coexistence and collaboration, has established itself as an ecosystem of community affection and well-being. The MACBA Education Department will also present projects developed with various communities, including collaborations with retirement homes, day-care centres and the Tenía cosas dormidas working group, made up of people from the Ciutat Vella neighbourhood Community Rehabilitation Service.
