The Associació Catalana de Crítics d’Art Awards have a long history behind them. As in recent years, the public awards ceremony of the 32nd edition will be held at MACBA’s Meier Auditorium. The ACCA Awards recognise artists, galleries and art critics for work carried out in Catalonia, targeting a broad cross-section of activities that include artists’ exhibitions in museums and galleries, artistic production centres, curators, books, traditional and digital magazines, videos focusing on the art world, heritage initiatives and the promotion of Catalan art abroad. The history of the ACCA Awards offer an overview of the history of Catalan art over the past thirty years. The winners are decided by the votes of members of the association at an extraordinary annual general meeting. The Award consists of a diploma featuring the drawing that Joan Miró designed specifically for the Associació Catalana de Crítics d’Art, the original of which is held at MACBA.
