A participatory process
With the intention to integrate the voices and knowledge of the museum’s working community into the museum expansion project, a participatory process was carried out that collected a whole series of proposals and considerations around the museum to come.
These work sessions addressed issues relating to the uses and management of the new spaces, the future of museum institutions, their social and environmental impact, and the concrete impact that this will have on the public, the Raval community and on the workers in the museum. The proposals collected will be worked on with the architect team, as well as with the Pla de Barris del Ajuntament (the city hall’s neighbourhood plan) and within the scope of the museum itself.
To continue to project a more connected and assertive museum, we will continue to promote and take part in different public participation initiatives that help us reflect on the museum we want.
