How do I get to the Museum?
MACBA’s central Barcelona location makes it is easy to reach on public transport (Metro, FGC and bus). Parking is also available for those who choose to drive. For more information, see Access and Surroundings.
Is there a car park near the Museum?
Yes, several options are available. In the Access and Surroundings section you will find details on the car parks closest to the Museum.
Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?
Yes, in the Visitors with disabilities section you will find information on wheelchair access and other Museum facilities for disabled visitors.
Can I park my bicycle in the area?
Yes there are several bicycle parking facilities in the vicinity of the Museum, as well as a Bicing station. See Access and Surroundings for more information.

How much does a ticket to the Museum cost?

Can I visit the Museum for free?
Yes, the Museum has open days on International Museum Day (May 18) and the city’s patron saint day, La Mercè (September 24). See the Calendar for more information.
Can I use a credit card to pay for my ticket at the Museum?
Yes, the Museum accepts credit cards.
Can I go back into the Museum using the same ticket?
The admission price entitles you to enter and leave the Museum as often as you like on the day of purchase.
Are there special season tickets that allow me to visit the Museum and participate in activities all year round?
Joining Friends of MACBA or purchasing a Passi ticket allows you to visit the Museum as often as you like over one year. See the Be MACBA section.

Do children have to pay to visit the Museum?
Children under 14 can enter the Museum free of charge.

Can I take a backpack or large bag into the Museum?
Backpacks and large bags or parcels must be left in the cloakroom.
Are wheelchairs available in the Museum for visitors with limited mobility?
Wheelchairs are available to our visitors on request. We recommend reserving one in advance by calling 93 481 33 68.
What activities and exhibitions are on at the Museum now?

Am I allowed to take photographs in the Museum?
Yes, you can take photos, without flash. The images must only be for personal, non-commercial use. MACBA may occasionally need to restrict permission for specific works or exhibitions. Tripods are not allowed.
Who do I contact if I want to take photos for commercial purposes or request high definition images of works from the Collection?
Please address your request to the Study Centre. If you need press images, please contact the Press Department.
Can I sketch during the visit?
School groups are allowed to sketch in pencil or charcoal, by prior request.
Is there a bar or restaurant at the Museum?
No, but there are many places where you can eat in the immediate surroundings. See And After MACBA...

Do you offer guided tours?
Yes, see the Calendar for tour details and schedules.
In what languages are the guided tours?
Catalan, Spanish and English. The tours change according to the exhibition; consult the Calendar for more information.
Is there an audio guide service?
The Museum does not offer an audio guide service. However, guided tours are included in the admission price.
How can I organise a group tour or school visit?

Are there any discounts or special admission for groups?
Yes, there is a discount for groups of more than fifteen. See the Groups section for more information.
Is there somewhere for groups or students to meet and/or have lunch?
No, but there are several public squares where people can sit or wait, right near the Museum –Plaça dels Àngels, Plaça de les Caramelles and Plaça de Joan Coromines. See Access and Surroundings for more information.
Where can the school bus park?
We suggest that school buses park in Plaça Catalunya, like tourist buses, as it is logistically equipped for this purpose.

How do I sign up for an activity?
You can sign up for activities through the online form that is provided along with the information on the activity, or in person at the Museum reception desk.
Is it necessary to book for free activities with a limited number of participants?
In general, it is not possible to book in advance for free activities. Only Friends of MACBA can do so, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 93 481 72 12.
Is there a simultaneous interpretation service at lectures?
Simultaneous interpretation is provided for lectures that are not delivered in Catalan or Spanish. For more information, see the information on each activity.
Can I be issued with a certificate for attending a course?
If a certificate is issued for a course, this information will be specified in the information on the activity.
Does the Museum organise activities for children?
Yes, see the family activities section in the Calendar. With a Family Pass, you can participate in all the activities programmed for families.
At what age groups are the children’s activities targeted?
