To launch its ‘Llibres de recerca’ collection on theoretical reflection around art, MACBA chose the work of Siah Armajani. In the year that it opened, MACBA organised the exhibition Reading Rooms, in which the Iranian-born American sculptor recreated the idea of place as a concept relating to sculpture, its occupation and the monument as such. This publication explored Armajani’s idea of place as a categorical reality of art in public space.
