Volume three of the ‘Llibres de recerca’ collection was based on the Primer Seminari de Recerca, a research seminar organised by MACBA in 1995 with the participation of Jean-Christophe Ammann, Jean-Pierre Criqui, Nancy Spector and Daniel Soutif. In the papers they presented at the seminar, the participants shared their reflections on four artists who played key roles in the development of art in the second half of the twentieth century: Siah Armajani, Robert Morris, Félix González Torres and Christian Boltanski. The essays in this book are based on the heated discussions triggered by this seminar in relation to the current state of art criticism and historiography.
