American composer and artist Alvin Lucier is one of the most prominent creators in the field of experimental music and sound creation. Co-founder of the Sonic Arts Union together with Robert Ashley, David Behrman and Gordon Mumma, Lucier’s work has been part of programmes and exhibitions in concert halls and art centres around the world, and he has collaborated with artists such as John Ashbery, Robert Wilson and Sol LeWitt. The documentary No Ideas But In Things, by Viola Rusche and Hauke Harder, provides a closer look at the particular world of Lucier through his work. French percussionist Stéphane Garin will perform two solos for amplified triangle and for percussion objects before the film is shown, which will be presented by director Hauke Harder.
